The aircraft was Liberator 41-11708

Sergeant Lamb was a passenger of Flight 41-1708.

The night of Jan 18th the C-87 with a crew of six and 20 passengers
(7 USA, and 13 RAF personnel) crashed into the sea. Nothing was found in the following search.

On Feb 5th one of the passengers, Major Mills, washed ashore in a raft at Natal, Brazil. Major Mills had died two days prior. Six dog tags and a note book belonging to 1Lt. Byler were found with Major Mills' body. The names on the dog tags were never released.
